Cannes Film Festival unveils lineup

The 68th edition of the much reputed Cannes Film Festival is scheduled from 13th – 24th May, 2015. The recent news from the corner is regarding the unveil of lineup for this year's festival. On Thursday morning, Thierry Fremaux, the Cannes Festival Director and President Pierre Lescure unleashed the names of titles for the 68th edition of the festival.
Some of the noted films which will be screened in the competition section includes, 'Sea of Trees' directed by Gus Van Sant, 'Carol' by Todd Haynes, Denis Villeneuve's cartel thriller 'Sicario' and 'Youth' directed by Paolo Sorrentino.
The festival will also witness the World Premier of Pixar's most anticipated movie, 'Inside Out'. This movie is expected to make its way to the theaters of June 19th, and a screening in front of the critics and audiences in Cannes is expected to give a better mileage for the movie.
The opening movie of the festival is special in all means. For the first time in 28 years, a movie directed by a female is going to open this festival. The film is 'La Tête haute', directed by Emmanuelle Bercot. The movie will showcase the life of a juvenile criminal who is reaching his adulthood. A social worker now tries hard to purify the mind of this young gun.
Two Indian Films have made its way to the Uncertain Regard list. 'Masaan' directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and Gurvinder Singh's 'Chauthi Koot' will be screened in this section.
